Forming a Civil Partnership in Norfolk
Instead of getting married same sex couples can choose to enter into a Civil Partnership. A Civil Partnership will also formally and legally recognise the relationship and it conveys similar but not identical rights to marriage in important areas such as tax and inheritance.
Government’s announcement of Opposite Sex Civil Partnerships
The Government announced on 2nd October 2018 plans to introduce civil partnerships for opposite sex couples. Any opposite sex couples wishing to form a civil partnership should be aware that isn’t possible yet. We will make further updates when the timetable is clearer and the law has officially changed.
