The King's House is a large Grade II listed building in Thetford. It is a former royal residence of King James, in the ancient borough of Thetford, in the heart of the Brecks, an area of outstanding interest and beauty, offering both ancient and modern historical sites to visit.

The colour scheme in the ceremony room is dusky pink and dark blue with reproduction furniture in a style to complement both the room and the building. 


The capacity is 42 people including the two witnesses, photographer and bridesmaids, but excluding the couple and two Registrars.

Open Mornings

Come along to an open morning and see if the Boudicca Suite is the perfect wedding venue for you. A member of the Marry in Norfolk team will be available to answer your questions.

The large gardens have a mixture of lawns, formal and herbaceous borders and a rose garden, and these are open for photographs. 


Confetti cannot be thrown in the grounds or the gardens. 

Disabled access

The ceremony room is located on the ground floor of the building and is fully accessible.


Parking at the Registration office is very limited and spaces cannot be guaranteed. You may have to find alternative parking, there are many free parking facilities in Thetford town centre.
